Apple TV+ has dropped the official trailer for “Murderbot,” its latest sci-fi dark comedy starring Golden Globe winner Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, Big Little Lies). Based on Martha Wells’ acclaimed, best-selling series, the show follows a rebellious security unit on its quest to find life’s purpose.
Check out the film’s official plot synopsis: In a high-tech future, a rogue security robot (Alexander Skarsgård) secretly gains free will. To stay hidden, it reluctantly joins a new mission protecting scientists on a dangerous planet…even though it just wants to binge soap operas.
The ten-episode series will kick off streaming on Friday, May 16, with the first two episodes. Following that, new episodes will be released every Friday until July 11.
