Directed and written by Paolo Sorrentino, the film features Celeste Dalla Porta, Stefania Sandrelli, Gary Oldman, Silvio Orlando, Luisa Ranieri, Peppe Lanzetta, and Isabella Ferrari. Check out the film’s official plot synopsis: “Parthenope, born in the sea of Naples in 1950, searches for happiness over the long summers of her youth, falling in love with her home city and its many memorable characters.” Parthenope will be released in theaters on February 7.

Paolo Sorrentino returns with The New Pope, his second original series set in the world of the modern papacy. Written by Sorrenttino with Umberto Contarello and Stefano Bises, the nine-episode original series features Jude Law and John Malkovich. Sharon Stone and Marilyn Manson guest star. The New Pope will premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 1, which means it’s likely that HBO will premiere the series Stateside in early 2020
